WELCOME TO COTTAGE CLOTH

My name is Kailey Stewart and I am the founder & designer of Cottage Cloth. Cottage Cloth is the product of a passion for colour and design, a desire to work with my hands, and a need to create in an environmentally conscientious way. I also love natural fibres and textile design, so printing fabric was a natural step for me. I truly love this process end to end - developing designs to dying fabric to stitching each item to completion. I design everything in my home studio in Toronto, Canada, and all items are sewn by myself and 2 lovely women that live in my neighbourhood. I am thrilled to be able to share my passion with others, and I strive to make practical, pretty & durable Earth-friendly products that last the test of time and style. From my fabric selection, to brush-dye colouring, to sewing materials, and packaging.

My fabric of choice is unbleached, certified 100% cotton canvas. This is a beautiful, soft yet strong heavy canvas grown and woven in India according to Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS). You can feel good knowing the health of the land, water, farmers and weavers are not compromised during the production of this textile!
